Despite breeding advances in the beardless irises, the true colours available in the bearded iris are still hard to beat. They require a sunny well-drained position. Heights and flowering times vary:-Smaller Dwarf Bearded (SDB) April c.30cm
Intermediate Bearded (IB) late April/May c.50cm
Border Bearded (BB) late May/June c.60cm
Miniature Tall Bearded (MTB) As BB, but with daintier flowers.
Tall Bearded (TB) late May/June c.90cm

Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris
